Matthew Walne has over 15 years experience in financial services, having started at junior level with Sedgwick Noble Lowndes. He graduated from De Montfort University with an honours degree in Economics in 1996.
The reason Matthew got into providing financial advice is that he has a strong belief that his work will always improve the long-term financial situation of his clients’ and their families.
“I get to wake up everyday to do something I love. I get to inspire people to do the things that inspire them. It’s the most wonderful thing in the world. In fact the best part is trying to figure out all the ways that I can do that. It’s amazing.”
Matthew likes to learn and continually improve himself “I’ve learnt from some of the best in the business and some great thought leaders and will continue to learn, which can only benefit my clients.”
Matthew’s main area of speciality is looking after owners of small family businesses in helping with their exit strategy.
Matthew is in an elite group of financial planners in the UK, the 10oth to be accredited with BS ISO 22222.2005. Matthew is also progressing towards being a Chartered & Certified Financial Planner.
When Matthew isn’t working he likes to spend as much time as possible with his young family. Matthew and his Wife, Jo, like taking their Sons, Jude and Ellis to farms parks and Zoos. They like going on holidays to Greek Islands as well as other European destinations and the occasional city break.
Matthew enjoys Scuba Diving and is PADI Open Water qualified. He also is a Leicester City fan and enjoys watching most sports although his participation in them isn’t too frequent these days! Matthew is also a keen lover of rock music, films and books.
